Tattnall County, Reidsville
is 74 miles west of Savannah, 118 miles east of Macon.
Interstate 16, located 25 miles north of Reidsville is
the major link between Atlanta, Macon, and Savannah.
City population: 2235.
Reidsville, the county
seat of Tattnall County, was incorporated in 1838. The
city was named for Robert E. Reid, a Superior Court
Judge. Tattnall County is the top producing
Vidalia Onion county in the state of Georgia.

The average daily
temperature in January is 56 degrees F.,in July, 85
degrees F. This is an almost perfect climate, with 49 inches
average rainfall and virtually no snowfall.

Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park, originally named
Reidsville State Park, is located in Reidsville. The
park was renamed for a small regional plant, Lost
Gordonia, discovered in the 1770s. The park offers
picnicking, swimming, fishing, boating, camping, a
nine-hole golf course and tennis.
Fishing is abundant in
the Ohoopee and Altamaha Rivers as well as the 12-acre
recreational lake at the Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park.
The Wiregrass Trail, a 70 mile historic route
through southeastern Georgia, runs through Tattnall
County. This scenic byway (Highway 57), in addition to
providing a scenic alternative route to Georgia's Golden
Isles from Atlanta and Northwest Georgia, also possesses
historical, academic and ecological significance.
The shopping and
dining pleasures of historic
Savannah, Georgia are just over an hour away.
The beaches of
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina are just 2 hours
from Reidsville. Orlando, Florida and all the fun
of
DisneyWorld are right at 4.5 hours due south.
